The most common design for an electric linear actuator is a DC motor with a transmission, usually a worm gear, connected to a screw/nut assembly. This basic design converts the rotational motion in the DC motor to a linear motion.

Linear actuators provide a quiet, safe, energy-efficient and smooth motion. The worm gear and screw/nut assembly is a quiet solution that results in a low-noise actuator. Furthermore, the actuator’s easy-to-drive requirements allow for a safe connection to a battery power supply source. The actuator’s self-lock system also makes sure the actuator will not move in the opposing direction when an external load is applied.

Installing an electrical linear actuator is easy compared to installing a hydraulic or pneumatic actuator. First, it’s easy to connect a battery supply source for power.  Furthermore, the electrical actuator takes up less space compared to other types of actuators (link to the first article) since it doesn’t require valves, pumps and compressors. This makes electrical linear actuators more portable and flexible in their desired applications.

lynpe’s actuators consist of a DC motor, a gear (worm, spur or planetary gear) and a screw/nut assembly.  All actuators can be customized to your application needs.  lynpe can also equip actuators with integrated position-feedback options to provide accurate control over your system. All actuators can be connected to lynpe’s or others control systems.
